Spotlight on Rams House

With university sports banners lining the walls and plenty of TVs to tune into games, Rams House is the unofficial headquarters of all things VCU basketball and sports.

Continuing on their “can’t-stop, won’t-stop” journey, restaurateurs and spouses Mike Lindsey and Kimberly Love-Lindsey officially opened Rams House over the summer. Exuding casual vibes and serious college spirit, the pizza palace and brew pub that debuted in June at 2035 W. Broad St. marks the couple’s eighth venture.

Lindsey, a North Carolina native, grew up as a UNC fan and says that love of sports and camaraderie stuck with him over the years.

“When you go to Chapel Hill, one of the things you get when you hit the campus and the area around there, is that everything is focused on UNC. Every restaurant, every bar, has some kind of homage they pay to it. One of the things we noticed was with VCU having such a huge following, that there is no VCU-branded restaurant or bar or anything.”

The menu at Rams House is a collegiate culinary dream, with classic bar bites from chicken wings tossed in sauces from a Sticky Asian to Nashville Spice to handheld such as sliders, loaded fries and plenty of ‘za. Bonus: Nearly 40 beers on tap to wash it all down.

“We have a great relationship over at VCU with the athletic department, we do a bunch of catering for medical side of it and we’ve already done a lot putting these conversations together and making sure everybody knows the space is for them,” says Lindsey.

Working with Cavalier since 2017, Love-Lindsey says, “We use them at all our locations for all produce items. We like using Cavalier because they use the most Virginia farm and products.”
